My mind wanders, and my heart is recharging. Writing helps provide myself a voice when I am less vocal. Art helps provide an even clearer method of communicating my thoughts & emotions. As I’m AFK from streaming and on a short hiatus, I find myself writing and drawing throughout my classes. It keeps me sane. Thankfully, the week is almost over – it’s been such a whirlwind. Besides a lack of sleep, I think I’m emotionally exhausted. Do you ever get that feeling?
Sometimes it’s a struggle to write, or even create. There’s so many different things to balance, no matter which stage of life you’re in. This piece for me represents my attempt to balance myself. I take inspiration from my Indian culture, especially through the designs of henna. I’ve always been a big fan of the abstract. I have so many fears of creating something and it not looking great, and I think forcing ourselves to make something without fear of the outcome is so important for our growth.
I love how abstract drawings also encourage you to see the bigger picture and observe the tiny details. The best way I can describe my art, is that if I am able to take a picture of my soul, these are the bits and pieces you will see. Personally, I loathe forcing art to have deeper meanings. I believe beauty is in the eye of the beholder and there’s always a meaning to everything, no matter how big or small. I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments. What does this piece mean to you?
