Say Cheese! Smiles are contagious. It’s funny how we’re the only creature on earth where showing our teeth is a positive and nonthreatening thing (lol). In fact, it’s the opposite! A powerful, genuine smile is the first step to a great introduction, beautiful pictures, and a happy life. Let’s face it, it’s kind of hard to be sad when we smile, right?
It’s really easy to tell when a smile is genuine or not. As a janine-nuine master, I’m here to tell you that it’s important to know when to flash those pearly whites (or yellows) or a simple grin. Besides it being pleasant to look at, it can communicate a powerful message of love and friendship. It shows strangers how we are friendly and a person they should get to know. It tells potential employers how we’re happy to meet them and that we’re a kind individual.
Admittedly, sometimes it’s hard to smile all the time. There’s definitely a time when to smile and when not to. Unless you’re at Disneyland, smiling all the time is just inhuman. If you can’t find a reason to smile, however, I recommend thinking about your past and present along with your hopes for the future. There’s so many things to smile about such as being grateful for this wonderful planet we live in, the roof over our heads, the food we eat, the opportunities we have, our supportive family, friends, coworkers, loved ones, pets, etc.
So the next time you’re feeling down, about to meet someone new, or go for an interview, remember to smile! 🙂
